IN | artist run initiative is a contemporary art space based out of The Old Lock Up, Maroochydore. A site for experimental art practices, critical conversations, and collaboration.

RESIDENCIES | EXHIBITIONS | LIVE ART | WORKSHOPS

IN | ARI is a meeting place for art and community; collisions of art forms and processes; a place for different ideas to be exchanged; and layers of history and culture to be in dialogue with one another.

To support the development and presentation of emerging + mid career art practices, IN offers project space x time for collaborations, mentoring, feedback, peer-critique, and a place to ‘talk shop’.

Central within IN | ARI’s vision is the idea of exchange. Our headquarters at The Old Lock Up have become an emblem of this idea - with its porous walls, its history as a transitional space, its location where the river meets the sea, and the markings engraved x burned into the walls that speak to the way we shape our surrounds and are in turn shaped by them.

Established in 2021, IN | ARI is a not-for-profit association run by founding directors June Sartracom, Ruby Donohoe, and Sharna Barker.
